Supporting and Leading Teams through times of Stress & Crises

Stress can occur as a result of ongoing workplace challenges and pressures (cumulative stress), or in response to a critical incident or traumatic event. Workplace stress impacts on the morale and well-being of staff, is a significant OH&S risk, and is recognised in the relevant legislation. This training equips managers and team leaders to recognise stress-related risks, contain and manage critical incidents as they happen, and minimise harm to staff, clients, and the organisation.

The training includes a flow chart for identifying the appropriate responses to an incident (with an overview of critical incident stress debriefing as a part of Critical Incident Stress Management), providing initial support (Psychological First Aid), referring on, and preventative strategies such as stress stocktakes and resilience building.
